Product Overview

The IXYS DSEI 2x 61-12B is a Fast Recovery Epitaxial Diode (FRED) module featuring two independent FREDs in a single package. Designed for high-frequency switching applications, it offers a high isolation voltage of 2500 V~, planar passivated chips, very short recovery times, extremely low switching losses, and low IRM-values with soft recovery behavior. Its applications include antiparallel diodes for high-frequency switching devices, anti-saturation diodes, snubber diodes, free-wheeling diodes in converters and motor control circuits, rectifiers in switch-mode power supplies (SMPS), inductive heating and melting, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and ultrasonic cleaners and welders. Advantages include high reliability circuit operation, low voltage peaks for reduced protection circuits, low noise switching, low losses, and the potential for operating at lower temperatures or space saving due to reduced cooling.
