Product Overview

The ULN2002 is a high-voltage, high-current Darlington array integrated circuit featuring five independent Darlington driver channels. Each channel is equipped with a free-wheeling (flyback) diode for driving inductive loads such as relays and stepper motors. With a collector output current of 500mA per channel, it can also achieve higher current output by paralleling channels. The ULN2002 is versatile, finding applications in relay drivers, lighting drivers, LED display drivers, stepper motor drivers, and logic buffers. Its input stage includes a 2.7K base resistor for direct compatibility with TTL/CMOS logic signals at 5V, and a 4K pull-down resistor to prevent false triggering from indeterminate microcontroller states.
