The MCR72 series are sensitive gate silicon controlled rectifiers (SCRs) designed for industrial and consumer applications. They are suitable for temperature, light, and speed control; process and remote controls; warning systems; capacitive discharge circuits; and MPU interfaces. Key features include center gate geometry for uniform current density, all diffused and glass-passivated junctions for stability, a low thermal resistance Thermowatt package for high heat dissipation, and low trigger currents for direct driving from integrated circuits.
